500 Wishes

Remember that quote by Gandhi (which happens to be one of my favorite quotes of all time): "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Well, honestly, it has nothing to do with this topic except that it has the word "wish" in it. But if you take it a step further, I take that it means that wishes can change things. Whether it be the world or one person.
And there's another quote, by Eleanor Roosevelt, "It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan." It seems that many times, people do not really think about what it is to wish, goal, dream. Of course, plenty of people do have wishes and dreams, but I feel that there is also a lot of skepticism and cynicism that seems to add a bitter quality to those wishes and takes away the genuineness. Anyway, this quote points out that it takes just as much to plan something as it does to wish for it, which can be taken in two ways: 1. Once you have this wish, you have no excuse to not plan for it and attempt to follow through because it is the same amount of work! And 2. It is just as important to wish for something as it is to make something happen, i.e.--wishing is beneficial.

So everyone take a deep breath, and let's get back to our roots for a moment. The wishes you have are completely you and absolutely true. They reflect your personality, your drive, and obviously your desire. But they also reflect your future, because they are those innate thoughts you have that cause you to take certain steps in a certain direction.

On Facebook, Jenny Dang has taken it upon herself to challenge 500 people, family, friends, and strangers alike, to express one wish. I think this is such an amazing idea. It's a bit like those FML, MLIA, and PostSecret websites/books, but even better in my opinion because it's more personal. She has three albums on Facebook dedicated to this very creative project and you should definitely check them out if you get the chance. Don't worry about getting through all 400+ of them, but dabble here and there if you can. Some of these wishes are pretty inspiring, and some of them come from some very interesting people you may or may not recognize. (I am proud to say that I am also part of this awesome project! :])
So here they are: 500 Wishes Part 1Part 2, and Part 3!

Your Challenge: What do you wish for? Think about it. [And check out Jenny's 500 Wishes Project in the links above! It might not be too late to message her about being a part of it!]
